7 new SensorConnect updates (plus 2 MSCL adds!)

SensorConnect

Last fall, we premiered SensorConnect, our main PC software for sensor configuration and data collection, and we're pleased to announce that SensorConnect 6.0.0 has now been released and is live on our website. Get it here.

Among the updates:

1. G-Link-200: The G-Link-200 (scheduled for launch next week) is fully supported. This includes configuration and parsing of new data packets.

2. Derived Channels: The G-Link-200 is the first Node to support Derived Channels. These can be configured by clicking the Channels dropdown in the Wireless Sampling screen.

3. Improved Channel Tree organization: The channel tree now has separate hierarchies for Derived and Diagnostic data channels, making it easier to get to the data you need without cluttering the interface.

4. New Data Widgets: New data widgets are now available for displaying data. The new widgets include:
•  Linear Gauge
•  Thermometer
•  Radial Gauge
•  Status Indicator

The Text Chart has also been updated.

5. Color Ranges: Many widgets now support configuration of the Color Ranges setting.

6. Helper Tooltips: You will notice many helper tooltips on the Wireless configuration and Sampling screens. Clicking these will provide details for the specific setting.

7. Live updating of SensorCloud Channels: If you are logged in to SensorCloud from within SensorConnect and are viewing your cloud data, it will now periodically update with new data. This means you can leave a dashboard up with just SensorCloud data and see the most recent data continuously update. Keep an eye out for SensorCloud to have this behavior soon as well.

MSCL

In addition, we're also provided a few updates to MSCL, the MicroStrain Communication Library, which makes it simple to write code that interacts with our wireless sensors. Version 19.3.0 (get it here) is now available, with improvements including:

1. G-Link-200: The G-Link-200 is fully supported in MSCL. Customers who want to write their own software can now do so for the G-Link-200, as they could for our previous products.

2. More Python support: MSCL previously only supported 32-bit Python 2.7. We now offer pre-built binaries for 32-bit and 64-bit Python 2.7, as well as 64-bit Python 3.6.
