Contest Winner Announced!

Congratulations to Trent Hassell of NOV IntelliServ, winner of our "Win an Apple iPad 2" application contest. Mr. Hassell submitted his application in which MicroStrain's V-Links and WSDA-Base-104 were used to perform drill pipe fatigue testing.  Stay tuned, as Mr. Hassell's application will be featured on our website in the coming months!

Tech Note: New Wireless Sensor Networks SDK Available

Our new Wireless Sensor Networks Software Development Kit (SDK) supports application development on MicroStrain's mXRS™ Wireless Nodes and WSDA® Base Stations.  The nodes and base stations are completely operating system and coding language independent and the SDK enables developers to integrate the nodes and base stations into any environment. The SDK includes a data communications protocol manual, node and base station EEPROM maps, and sample code in C++, LabVIEW and VB.Net.

The new wireless SDK can be found on any of our wireless sensor product pages under the documentation tab, or you may click here to download the SDK.

Internships Drive Success

MicroStrain Interns
MicroStrain Interns, Summer 2010

"More than ever, scientific discovery and the technological innovations derived from basic research are serving as the foundations for dynamic state, regional and national economies," notes Beth Hill, writer for the Burlington Free Press. In a recent article, she investigates the need for college students to begin bolstering their resumes prior to graduating, and the movement of businesses to begin investing in talent well before they've attained their degree.

Hill continues, "MicroStrain's college interns earn extra money while gaining valuable experience working with senior engineers to develop cutting edge sensing systems.

'MicroStrain has a long history of providing paid internships for engineering and computer science students from Vermont colleges and universities as well as for students who may be returning to Vermont from out-of-state schools over their winter and summer vacations,' said Steve Arms, MicroStrain President and CEO. 'Many of our former student interns are now full-time members of our staff, and they're now mentoring our student interns for the future."
